From time to time when I’m not photographing my own weddings I get the opportunity to photograph weddings with other photographers. This Virginia fall barn wedding with Jessie Mary Photography at Murray Hill was so worth the drive. When I’m seconding I usually get to hang with the guys which means it’s time to get out the booze. 😉
Emily and Jake did this cool Southern tradition called, bury the bourbon. The lore is that if you bury a full bottle of bourbon upside down at your wedding venue exactly one month before your wedding day, you will keep the rain away. Well, it worked. I got to witness the best part – the digging up and drinking of said bourbon. 🙂
I would say 99% of the time there is some difficulty when it comes to pocket square time. Thank goodness for smart phones!
Another cool element that Emily and Jake added to their wedding day was to have a first touch. They were able to share a few words and hold hands before actually seeing each other at the ceremony.
